Cleveland Indians Trade 2 Time Cy Young Award Winner Corey Kluber To The Rangers.

On Sunday, December 15, The Cleveland Indians traded their 33 year old Ace Pitcher, Corey Kluber to the Texas Rangers, for 27 year old outfielder Delino Deshields Jr, and 21 year old pitching prospect Emmanuel Clase.

Kluber played 10 seasons with the Tribe and during his time in an Indians uniform, he made three All Star Game appearances, won two Cy Young Awards, he was a huge factor in getting the Indians to four playoff appearances in the last seven years. He also helped the Indians make it to game 7 of the World Series in 2016. Sadly, his last season in Cleveland was plagued by injury, as he had a broken arm which sidelined him for the majority of the season.

Without their ace, the Indians who have won 90 or more games for four consecutive seasons have fans questioning the future of the team, and saying they would be shocked to see the team finish 81-81 next season. It is going to be interesting to see how the Indians are able to rebuild having young pitchers with tremendous potential such as Shane Bieber, Arron Civale, and now Emmanuel Clase. It will also be interesting to see how Kluber bounces back from his injury, and if he can have continued success with his new team.
